Cinque Terre
National Park
Marine protected Area
17 km
Ancient fishing villages whose hamlets are characterized by pastel-colored houses and vineyards located on steep terraces overlooking the sea. Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Rio Maggiore are universally considered places of rare beauty and incomparable charm. Among these five jewels between sea and rock it is nice to get lost among stairs, ladders, porches, loggias, portals and paths. It is not for nothing that the Cinque Terre are a national park, a protected marine area and are part of the UNESCO cultural heritage.
The train is certainly the most practical and environmentally friendly way to explore these pristine places.

Picturesque fishing village overlooking its bay is a symbol of Liguria and Mediterranean tourism. Its tall colored houses surround the small port and the famous square, around which the desire for a holiday flows. The pastel colors of the houses, the blue of the sea and the greenery that surrounds the village blend harmoniously with the yachts, historic fishing boats and tourist ferries.
It has always been one of the most iconic destinations in Liguria and sought after by VIPs from all over the world, because it is synonymous with elegance and sweet life.
Reach it by sea with boats from Rapallo or Santa Margherita Ligure for a walk in via Roma, a visit to the church of San Martino (11th century) and a stop in piazza Martiri dell'Olivetta, also known as "piazzetta", framed by arcades where ice cream parlors, shops and fashion boutiques find space.
Our advice, however, is to go further: from the “piazzetta”, walk up towards the Church of San Giorgio (12th century) - the patron saint of Portofino -, continue towards Castello Brown, with its park surrounded by greenery, up to get to the lighthouse. From Piazza Giussani you will have an unforgettable panorama of the gulf in front of you.

10 km
Sestri Levante marks the beginning of a stretch of coast where rocks overlooking the sea follow one another, paths and ravines and wide pebble or sandy beaches. The center of the town, with its iconic "caruggio" lies tight between the two beautiful bays with very fine sand and crystal clear water. The Bay of Tales and Bay of Silence offer enchanted atmospheres and panoramas with unique views. The promontory dominates the landscape and closes the Gulf of Tigullio.

Heavenly place to find romance and unsuspected adventures. Portovenere with its tall and colorful houses lies on one of the two extremes of the Gulf of Poets. A seaside village with a charm of its own that makes it one of the most beautiful, suggestive and photographed places in Italy. From a fishing village it was transformed into a stronghold on the sea, of which it still retains the walls, the church of San Pietro - an extraordinary example of Ligurian Gothic - located on the extreme point of the promontory overlooking the sea and the Doria castle, located on the hill overlooking the historic core and the many beaches.
Together with the three islands (Palmaria, Tino, Tinetto) it is included among the sites of the UNESCO world cultural heritage list.
We advise you to arrive by boat and immediately prepare your camera.
If you go as far as the vault of the Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto islands (reachable by boat from the small port of Portovenere) you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the colorful buildings of the village and the marine scenery of the gulf.

31 km
Small nineteenth-century maritime power clinging to the bare and steep rock overlooking the sea. Camogli with its pastel-painted palaces is reflected in the sea of the Paradise Gulf standing out on the slopes of the Portofino Park. Known as the "city of a thousand white sailing ships", Camogli is immersed in a beautiful natural setting.
Worth seeing is the minor basilica of Santa Maria Assunta (12th century) protruding over the sea, the medieval castle of Dragonara and the Maritime Museum, where you can admire works related to the sea among paintings, documents and models. An obligatory stop in one of the restaurants in the village to taste a good fried fish.
From its characteristic little port - which retains the authentic seafaring features of the past - you can leave by sea for the most suggestive and hidden ravines of the coast. Go as far as San Fruttuoso di Capodimonte, a place out of time and one of a kind that exudes beauty, nature and history together. Its Benedictine monastery dating back to the 10th century is considered among the most scenic in the world, so much so that it is counted among the FAI sites.
For diving enthusiasts there is the Christ of the Abyss.

Three small, very picturesque villages, known for their rare natural and landscape beauty.
Framura extends over a series of small villages that overlook the sea and offer breathtaking views of the coast. It is an ideal place for those who love nature thanks to its network of hiking trails that wind through olive groves, vineyards and woods.
Bonassola is known for its golden sandy beach, crystal clear waters, and the narrow and colorful streets of the historic center with an authentic and welcoming atmosphere.
Levanto is the largest of the three and is the key access point to the Cinque Terre. Its famous sandy beach is ideal for sunbathing and swimming. It offers a variety of tourist services and attractions, as well as restaurants, cafes, shops and accommodation. Use its port to set off on boat trips to the Cinque Terre and explore the other picturesque coastal towns in the area!

Elegant colorful buildings and streets with admirable risseus and designer boutiques. "Santa" means tourism, elegance, good food always with a sea view. Its marina welcomes pleasure boats, fishing boats and boats for trips on the sea all year round. Besides the beaches, it is possible to visit: Villa Durazzo with its seventeenth-century park with Italian garden, the Castle on the seafront (dating back to 1550) and the ancient abbey of Cervara, a monastic complex dating back to 1361 overlooking the sea with splendid outdoor gardens. Towards Portofino to visit is the splendid Bay of Paraggi, with an equipped beach and crystal clear waters surrounded by rich vegetation. For diving lovers we recommend a dive here among the splendid seabed and a ship wreck sunk in 1917.

The sixth Italian city and regional capital offers its inhabitants and visitors its largest medieval historical center in the world, combined with imposing nineteenth-century avenues, the suggestive ancient port with the Bigo, the Belvedere of the Castelletto district from its panoramic lifts or the Walk on the sea, dedicated to Anita Gaibaldi.
Genoa is a meeting place of cultures, commerce, tradition of people, perhaps a little shy, but concrete, proud and tenacious.
Not only sailors and navigators, but also statesmen, poets, actors, comedians, songwriters, have found and still find their inspiration here. Not to be missed is the Boccadasse district, an urban seaside village par excellence, one of the largest aquariums in Europe and the sea museum with its Nazario Sauro submarine.
